A loud, excited crowd of 100+ was on hand for a Saturday Nite Slam that started at 7:00, which caught a number of fans off guard.
Match #1: Superfly Ete vs. Ma Hu Wong
Superfly Ete impressively made his return to HCW by convincingly defeating Ma Hu Wong by pinfall.
Match #2: Ahuna vs. The Crusher
The Crusher had an injured leg but still had a formidable size advantage over Ahuna. Ahuna showed that the time he took off to allow his broken arm to heal didn't cost him anything. He took everything that The Crusher gave him and gave back double, focusing on The Crusher's injured leg. In the end, limping and without his fellow Maui wrestlers for support, The Crusher opted to give the match up by countout rather than return to the ring for more of Ahuna's punishment.
After their match, Ahuna told The Crusher that he and a partner would challenge Hawaiian Blood for the Kekaulike Tag Titles. Ahuna announced that The Crusher's partner was ... Ma Hu Wong!
Match #3 (HCW Kekaulike Tag Title match): The Crusher and Ma Hu Wong vs. Hawaiian Blood
This was quite a mismatch. Not only had Ma Hu Wong and the injured Crusher already gone through gruelling matches earlier in the evening, they were unfamiliar with each other as partners. Against the fresh, polished Kekaulike Tag Champions, Crusher and Wong had little chance at an upset. The end came with a Kaimana frog splash on Wong, followed by a pin.
Though Hawaiian Blood retained their titles, their status as champions make them targets. Immediately after Hawaiian Blood were declared the winners of their sanctioned match, Samoan Stallion Ativalu and Superfly Ete came charging from the locker room and attacked the champions. By the time they were done making their point, the Samoans left Hawaiian Blood laid out on the mat.
Match #4 (HCW Inter-Island Title match, triple threat): Big Daddy Frank vs. Kaniala vs. Mr. Spa Fitness
This match was originally supposed to be a singles match: Big Daddy Frank vs. Kaniala. Several minutes into their match, and just as Frank and Kaniala lay prone on the mat from a furious exchange, Mr. Spa Fitness came charging to the ring, announced that he was "cashing in" his title shot, and joined the match. Fitness failed to get a quick, cheap pin on either Big Daddy Frank or Kaniala but eventually threw Kaniala out of the ring, rolled up Big Daddy Frank, and illegally used Frank's pants for leverage to get a pin and win the Inter-Island Title.
After the match, Kaniala announced that his contract included a guaranteed rematch clause that allowed him to add a stipulation of his choosing. Kaniala said that next month, there would be a triple threat rematch for the title, and added the stipulation that if Mr. Spa Fitness loses his title, he will have to leave HCW.
Match #5 (HCW Kamehameha Heritage World Title match, triple threat): Kenjiro vs. Kaimana vs. Ativalu
This match was also originally scheduled to be a singles match: Kenjiro vs. Kaimana, but after the sneak attack from the Samoans earlier in the evening, Kaimana was upset enough to call out either Superfly Ete or Samoan Stallion Ativalu to join the match and take their shot at HCW's most coveted singles title. Ativalu took Kaimana up on his offer and, accompanied by Superfly Ete, came to the ring to join in the match.
For a while, Kenjiro stayed out of the ring and let Kaimana and Ativalu go at each other. As soon as he saw an opportunity for a quick pin or submission, he jumped in, but was unsuccessful on several attempts. After taking quite a beating from Ativalu and Kaimana, Kenjiro decided he had enough of the match and started heading toward the locker room with Mr. Oki. At that moment, disaster struck in the ring. Referee Kazz was inadvertently knocked out. Referee Jeremy ran to the ring to continue the officiating and Kenjiro, seeing his chance, ran back into the ring, kicked Ativalu through the ropes, and covered Kaimana. Though Kaimana's foot was under the bottom rope and hanging off of the ring apron, Jeremy counted off 1-2-3 and awarded the match and the title belt to Kenjiro.
Before Kenjiro could take the belt and leave, Ahuna announced that he saw Kaimana's foot under the ropes, and since Jeremy was not the referee assigned to the match, the decision was not official. Ahuna declared that tapes of the match would have to be viewed and until then, Ahuna would hang onto the title belt.
