:)KANIALA goes from going head to head with the leanest man in pro wrestling today, (former champion) MR. SPA FITNESS to facing the 350 lb. #1 contender for the AWA Hawaiian Inter-Island Title, BIG DADDY FRANK next! MR. OKI's complaints about the STEVE CORINO vs KAIMANA match, and KENJIRO demands a shot at the Kamehameha Title again!
ALOHA and welcome to another edition of HCW News and Rumors!!! ;D
We certainly hope that all of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day on the 14th!
Although we did feel the LOVE in the air , there was still some tension that lingered on from the last SATURDAY NITE SLAM! show (02/10), when KANIALA defeated MR. SPA FITNESS for his AWA Hawaiian Inter-Island Title Rematch, in a controversial "Two out of Three Falls Match". (Please refer to the results.)
KANIALA must now get ready to face BIG DADDY FRANK, and is training, and hitting the gym frantically, in order to take on the whopping, 350 pounder! Will he be able to successfully defend his title? We will have to wait until March 10th, to find out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that all 4 wrestlers have confirmed, and while we wait on the NJPW L.A. Dojo
date for the Hawaiian Blood vs Suicide Kings match (which we should have in the next couple of days or so), the HCW office received a message from MR. OKI regarding yet another loose end that apparently needs to be tied :
Sources say that MR. OKI was heard making several phone calls to the HCW Management as well as to DALE GAGNE (the President of the AWA ) regarding some kind of breach of contract issue (between, him, HCW, the AWA, and Zero1-Max), regarding STEVE CORINO's involvement with AWA Hawai'i Championship Wrestling.
Apparently, OKI's "gripes" are all due to STEVE CORINO (the current AWA World Heavyweight Champion) disappointing OKI by ,(in his own words), not doing KAIMANA "in", and even shaking hands with him after their Jan. 26th match!
Oki told HCW News and Rumors:
"KAIMANA is so stupid! KAIMANA shakes hand of someone who almost took his belt! Ha-ha-ha! STEVE CORINO almost left Hawaii with 3 belts!!!!...and HE SHOULD HAVE!!!! That would have been my gift to MR. NAKAMURA, who I go back years with, cruising around Roppongi when we were younger (but that's another longer story)..., now I lose face, and someone will pay!!! Maybe STEVE CO-RI-NO!!??"
OKI also added, "This was the exact same tactic that was used by Jyushin "Thunder" Liger and TIGER MASK 4 when they came to Hawaii, whooped KAIMANA and KANIALA's asses (and vise versa), and then turned around and made friends by a show of "good sportsmanship"?! Give me a break! What do you people, think this place is?! The HCW ring is not a place for "ALOHA"! I have LOTS of hotels in Waikiki for that. You want to come to Hawai'i and expect to feel like you are in a post card with Diamond Head behind you and beautiful sunsets? Then, you better "FIGHT". No more ALOHA! Ha-ha-ha!!!"
To this, AWA President Dale Gagne firmly stated, "First of all, the AWA does NOT condone using our World Heavyweight Champion like a 'hit man'. Professional Wrestling is a "sport". Second of all, the AWA takes pride in ourselves as being highly skilled "professionals" in the business, who "respect" the business and "old school values". If the founder of the AWA, (WWE Hall Of Famer) Verne Gagne heard what you had to say today, it would probably make him want to lace his boots back up just to kick YOUR ass! You are lucky he hasn't heard about all your nonsense which you are trying to "infect" the AWA with. As "the" President of the AWA, I for one will not stand for it.
Sources also say theHCW management promptly filed MR. OKI's complaints in a "special" file labeled "OPALA". Lastly, this reporter wonders who died and made MR. OKI, GOD? Everyone knows HCW's Commissioner is AWA GM, BILL APTER. Stay tuned as OKI tries to take on not just Hawaii, but the AMERICAN WRESTLING ASSOCIATION.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, KENJIRO KATAHIRA who made a challenge to both KAIMANA and STEVE CORINO at the Jan. 26th, SATURDAY NITE SLAM!, is saying that he actually never lost the belt, and just left it in Hawaii when he was called back to Japan by the SHOGUN KENSUKE, some months ago.
KENJIRO is now demanding a match against MR. HCW (the current Kamehameha Heritage Heavyweight Champion) "to make things clear". KAIMANA is welcoming the challenge and saying that after having faced STEVE CORINO in the "mano a mano" fight, he is not afraid to face anyone, and the belt is staying on him!!!
Will Commissioner BILL APTER sign this match? KAIMANA says he hopes so, so that he can also "make everything perfectly clear".
Meanwhile, STEVE CORINO says he was only going easy on KAIMANA, (who he refers to as the "rookie champion"), to give him just a "taste" of the KING, on account there was a lot of politics going on behind the scenes (with bridging AWA Japan, AWA Hawai'i, and AWA Continental US), but can't wait to return to Hawaii, because next time, KAIMANA will stay down, and if anyone, CORINO will be the one "making things clear."... To which the (so called) "rookie champion", Hawaii's own King Kamehameha Heritage Heavyweight Title holder, KAIMANA said,... "Oh, really?"...
HCW's next event: MARCH 10th, 2007
