First, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Chief Pulefano, President Tuitele, and the huge Samoan Community for inviting us to perform for the Samoan Culture Week last night!!! ;D Also, we want to thank ALL the HCW FANS that showed up!!!
Last night's show couldn't have been planned any better than what went down. First, the HCW's portion of the show, (originally scheduled for 5PM) was pushed back to 7PM by Chief Pulefano, because he said he wanted us to have a bigger audience, and HCW Ohana promptly trusted and followed Chief Pulefano's instructions.
"Amazed":
To our amazement, the crowd quickly increased as the sun went down. With the ring well lit by Samoa Mo Samoa's crew, wheeling in the big bright sports-show lights, it was amazing to see the mood change into a tropical arena, where barefoot kids and large number of Samoan families gathered around and sat comfortably at ringside on their mats, ala Samoan and local style! Beyond the sea of the spectators that picnic'd on the grass (enjoying some of the best "ono" Samoan foods that were being cooked right there onsite, by the vendors at the festival), were many more who watched standing, as well as those who sat in the VIP seating area under the tents.
This show was truly like a dream, as we just "fit in" like a glove with the Samoan Community, and there was definitely a give and take between the new FANS and the Superstars of the HCW Ohana! We even saw a few "regulars" in the crowd, although not too many...(but that's cool, we'll see YOU on the 14th, and fill you in! ), and they blended right in, as the FANS were mingling and quickly making "friends" with each other! The atmosphere was very warm, friendly, and totally "family style"! ;D
There were a couple thousand or more people in attendance, and it looked like more than half were there to watch wrestling! Very vocal "new" HCW FANS watched in amusement as Hawaii's athletes wow'ed both young and old. It was by far the LOUDEST group, we have performed for. We sincerely thank each and every one of you who participated, and welcomed us last night, and to the fans who were able to follow us to this event!!!

Behind the scenes, and into the show:
While the atmosphere seemed quite mellow outside, the dressing room was another story, as "Island Girl" TRACY TAYLOR and MA HU WONG was still not over the "Who" is the HCW Diva? ordeal! Sources say, all that was overheard, was "No you're not!", "Yes I am.", "No you're not!", "Yes I am." back and forth... The kids must've instictively already known what was going on, as they most likely have these kinds of sibling fights as well, and were quick to "relate". They instinctively picked sides at show time, and as a result, both MA HU WONG and TRACY TAYLOR had a huge crowd of kids who flocked around them from the get go! This is without a doubt, HCW's best G-rated "on-going feud" that Hawai'i has ever seen! The kids followed each athlete from their entrance to the ring, and followed them back as they exited, in droves!!! Incredible!
Other highlights:
ETE's surprise highflying drop kick on AHUNA (surprisingly "very high" for a man his size! Very impressive! )
AHUNA's consistently, very "stiff" strikes between him and ETE!
MICAH's amazing showcase of very snug and "polished" old school, chain wrestling, and intense mat skills, with his "Strong Style" ability!
ATIVALU fans "cheered" for him, instead of the usual "boo-ing" (even when he pulled out his trademark Running Boot), as he worked the crowd like a real pro!
BIG DADDY FRANK pulled out his famous "Double Splash" (WOW!!!) on ALEKI and TUI, as the 2 athletes got a chance to showcase their impressive "team work" as well! KAIMANA carried a natural spotlight on him, as he offered some very colorful "showmanship", heeling out even , and showed his flashier "entertainment" skills along with his usual HCW trademark, "Hawaiian Strong Style"! ;D
Keiki fan favorite, MA HU WONG did it again as he goes back to SOLID clean "basics", and sticks to milking his catty "entertainment" self, and the kids went wild!
TRACY TAYLOR showed the fans that women can "really" wrestle right here in Hawai'i, and not just be featured as "eye candy"! Not only did this "Island Girl" work the mat, and flew high, TRACY nailed some of the meanest chops of the evening, proving once again, that with HCW, local girls are indeed "No Ka Oi"!!!
All in all, it was a very well paced show.
The BIG SURPRISE:
The big surprise of the evening was the fact that MANU SAMOA "really" won the Kekaulike Tag Titles, as ETE had vowed... ...and the prestigious Hawaiian Titles had been re-named as "World" Tag Titles!!! Is this for "real"? What will ZERO TOLERANCE and SUICIDE KINGS do, as these 2 teams are already complaining, as news travels super fast these days! The phones are ringing off the hook at the HCW offices!!! ...
Both President LINDA and AHUNA are also not seeing eye to eye on this situation, and Commissioner BILL APTER could not be reached for comments... Stay tuned...as the plot thickens... Find out what will happen next,... JULY 14th!
